As I was cleaning up and transitioning to holiday décor, I thought I could still use these apples. It was a toss up between making a pie or using them in a crafty way. The paint brush won out over the rolling pin.
To make frosty apples all you need to do is cover them in glue or Mod Podge with a foam brush. It’s messy work so have everything ready before you start coating. I used Epsom salts to create a frosty look. Use a paper plate or bowl and fill it with the salts. Once your apple is coated with Mod Podge roll the apple around in the salts.
Carefully lift it out and set is aside to dry.
I’m not sure how long these apples will last since they were from my fall décor. If you want to use these closer to the holidays or on your holiday table, you may want to wait until closer to your event to create these. Shriveled frosty apples might not have the same effect as fresh Golden Delicious frosty apples.
