Celebrations: holiday clearance {repurposed hanukkah candles}

Candles 7-001Christmas ornaments, lights and garlands aren’t the only thing you can find on clearance after the holidays. I spied these bright colorful Hanukkah candles during the holidays and was thrilled to find them on the clearance shelf after New Year’s.

Blog Hannukah CandlesThe candles are the perfect size to make a big statement on a cake or cupcakes. And since there are so many candles in the package, I decided to package some up to share. I had a large plastic bin that would be perfect to nestle everything in.

Cupcake liners, bundled candles, sprinkles and a covered matchbox make a a fun cupcake decorating kit. All you you have to add is your favorite cupcake recipe.

The plastic bin got covered in fun white corrugated paper and stuffed with some bright and cheery packaging crinkles.

Since the lid was already a pretty pink color, I added Washi tape around the edge and a handwritten tag to finish it off.

Bright and cheery – all ready to package up and gift to someone special.

You could make smaller versions with just the candles and a small package of sprinkles to use as party favors.

Either way, I love these pretty candles and I’m sure I’ll find more uses for them down the road.

Thanks for stopping by.

  3. Hi Carolyn,
    What a clever idea! I found blue & white candles on sale, but not the multi-colored ones. Really cute package gift idea. [Pinned]
