I’m cutting up sweaters like crazy over here. Last week I shared a sweater coffee can storage idea and today I’m showing you a valentine sweater vase.
This was one of my favorite sweaters. I’ve had it for years. It’s made out of a silky cording and I believe crocheted. It’s a light dusty pink and perfect to throw on over a tank top. Sadly, it started unraveling. I’m still planning on undoing the sweater and saving the silky yarn.
I only used one sleeve to make this vase so I still have plenty of cording to unravel and use for something else. Maybe I’ll get ambitious and try to recreate the sweater. Realistically, I could probably handle knitting a scarf.
I’m sure you’ve seen sweater vases on various other sites and Pinterest. They’re super easy to make. You simple cut off a sleeve, slide it over a vase or jar and voila – you have a sweater vase. For this project, I glued the raw edge of the sleeve to the underside of the vase so it wouldn’t unravel. I also used small adhesive dots to keep the top edge from sliding down.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
