Celebrations: spring flower inspiration

Today, I’m tag teaming with the lovely Kari at Ucreate to bring you some spring inspiration. Kari has some pretty floral Mother's Day ideas. And I’m showing you some different ways to display flowers.

Spring Flowers 14 aTo me, nothing says spring like fresh cut flowers. Even the tiniest vase with a single flower is an instant mood brightener. For this project, I bought inexpensive flowers to create several arrangements and had enough left over to use the odds and ends to create the floral frame above. Inside the frame I added an inspirational quote that Kari shared with me. I'm going to print it out and hang it above my craft table.

You don’t always need to buy the expensive super-star flowers. This vintage enamel pitcher is stuffed with Stock and Wax flowers that were about $6.00 a bunch. The Daffodils that I bought were $2.50 a bunch as opposed to the Tulips that were $19.99.

Blog Spring Flowers KariWith all those flowers, I made several arrangements. Clockwise from top left: Tuberose in a Frankoma pitcher  ||  Daffodils in a milk bottle  ||  Tuberose buds in a tiny pink vase  ||  Jasmine (from my garden) & Wax flowers in vintage silver  ||  Wheat Grass and Tuberose in a clay pot  ||  Stock and Wax flowers in an enamel pitcher.

Here’s some information about the flowers I used. The Tuberose has a strong exotic, spicy, floral, and sweet scent. The flowers are grown and used in the perfume industry. They are also commonly used at weddings and in Hawaii for leis. They are part of the Agave family and not a rose.

Stock flowers are commonly used as filler flowers and they have a sweet scent. The blooms are white, pink and purple on grayish green foliage. They do look beautiful as filler flowers but I like them a on their own too.

Wax Flowers are another filler flower that can be purchased reasonably. They grown on flowering shrub that comes from the myrtle family. The blooms often last a long time which is why they’ve been named the Wax Flower.

This arrangement is on my dining room table and it changes the whole feel of the room.

I hope you enjoyed my budget-friendly flower arrangements. Thank you so much to Kari at Ucreate teaming up with me to bring you some floral inspiration. Head on over to Ucreate and check out Kari’s pretty Mother's Day arrangements. Here's a little peak...
