Etceteras: mohair wrapped vase

Mohair Vase 7Here’s a fun twist on a yarn or twine wrapped vase – a mohair wrapped vase.

Mohair VaseMohair is so soft and fuzzy. Mohair comes from the Angora Goat.

Aren’t they cute? The Angora Goat has long silky hair that is sheared and spun into a yarn. It’s one of the oldest textile fibers in the world. Look at their little faces!

Mohair Vase 4I was digging around in my yarn box the other day and found this little ball of Mohair.

Mohair Vase 5Just enough to make a little project. I thinned out some craft glue with water and brushed it on to a small glass vase. Then I wrapped the Mohair around the vase.

Mohair Vase 2Depending on the light, you can either see the individual strands or it becomes a blur of fuzz like in this photo above.

Mohair Vase 3Either way, it reminds me of cotton candy!
