Celebrations: The Owls Have Landed {Halloween Décor}

Halloween Owl Decor via homework | carolynshomework.comI usually like to wait until October 1st to break out the Halloween décor but since tomorrow is The Inspiration Board creative party, I’m starting a day early. Considering some malls already have holiday décor up, I think it’s okay.

Extra Credit: Good Taste for our faithful pets

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of ALPO® Brand Dog Food for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Feeding our faithful pets. ALPO dog food via homework | carolynshomework.comI’ve mentioned before that our family dog Sammy is my faithful companion and assistant. She follows me from room to room and keeps me company in my home office. Today she finally gets to help for real on a product review. Here she is waiting patiently while I take a few shots of the product and several of her “waiting patiently”. Confession: This is the only “waiting patiently” shot – the other 29 are of her jumping around, twirling, awkward down dog poses and general out takes.

If it was art class day, my whole day would be brighter and I couldn’t wait to what we were going to paint, draw or create that day. I love supporting art programs for kids and was so excited to hear about Fiskars Shape Their Future Project.

Etceteras: DIY Faux Amber Glass

DIY Faux Amber Glass | homeworkI wanted to add some pops of color to my fall décor and thought some amber colored glass would be the perfect accent. You  have probably seen many variations of coloring glass jars on craft sites and blogs. I’ve tried several methods and my favorite technique is using food coloring and Mod Podge.

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Michelina's for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Michelina's MakeItYourMichelina via homeworkThe weather is cooling, school has started and the holidays are around the corner. You know what that means… the family schedule is starting to get jam packed and there’s even less time in the day for busy moms.

Celebrations: A Touch of Fall Decor

White, beige and silver fall decorThe starfish, shells and coral have been put away until next summer. All the pops of aqua are gone and I’m in pre-fall mode. Nothing gets me motivated for the upcoming season more than redecorating my dining room hutch. I don’t have a mantel so this is where I bring in seasonal décor.

The Inspiration Board: creative party [119]

Welcome to The Inspiration Board Creative Party. If you're new here, I'm so happy that you have found my little corner of the creative world. For those of you who come back week after week, you know that I consider you part of the homework family! I'm so appreciative.

So? Are we in full fall mode or are you hanging on to the last few weeks of summer? I've stopped dragging my feet and started on some fall projects. I haven't had time to take down all the summer decor so right now shells, starfish and aqua knick knacks are still hanging around. But they will soon be replaced with all the beautiful colors of fall.

Now on to the creative party. I can't wait to see what you've been working on.

ETCETERAS: Stash Buster Fall Wreath

Stash Buster Fall Wreath via homework (6)I’ve been dragging my feet about fall décor in my house but when it’s sweltering outside and you have no air conditioning (uh, we live by the coast), it’s hard to wrap your head around pies baking in the oven, pumpkins and fall foliage. One of the things on my list was to go to the craft store and pick up some supplies for a fall wreath. I had a few ideas in mind but as I continued to drag my feet about running this errand, I started digging through my seasonal floral supply box.

CELEBRATIONS: Seasons–Fall color Inspiration

Fall 6Now that Labor Day is behind us, I should be in full fall mode. The problem is – it’s hot! This happens every year. We live near the coast and it usually doesn’t really feel like summer until late August through October. In order to get myself excited for fall, I usually put together an inspiration board or idea book.
I dug through my seasonal craft supplies and cupboards to pull together some items that will hopefully get me moving on fall décor and thought I’d share my mood boards with you.

The Inspiration Board: creative party [118]

Gold 1[4]From my archives | gold pumpkins

Happy September everyone. If you live in the U.S. I hope you had a wonderful three day weekend. For many people, summer is bookended by Memorial Day and Labor Day. So if you go by those dates, summer is over and fall has begun. However, where I live, it only got hot this past week. We've been cruising along with very mild weather and then bam - it got hot. So I don't know whether to keep my summer decor up or jump into fall.

How about you? Are you doing fall creating, baking, cooking and decorating? I can't wait to see. All types of inspirational projects are welcome here... crafts, decor, recipes, gardening, diy, photography or even an inspiring story. If you're new to homework, I want to welcome you to my little corner of the creative world. Thank you so much for joining me here today.

Now on to the creative party. I can't wait to see what you've been working on.
