Etceteras: A Little Eucalyptus

7-7

Every season I change up the décor on my kitchen hutch. I usually introduce a seasonal element or color depending on my mood. Sadly, this summer is getting away from me. Any grand plans for a fresh look with shells, starfish or other summer décor is slowly slipping away.

GOOD TASTE: A Rainbow of Granita Recipes

1-Granita Round Up

Every July 11th or 7/11, the 7-Eleven Convenience Stores give away free Slurpees. Have you ever had a Slurpee? They’re a frozen, icy, sugary beverage that tastes so good on a hot day. I didn’t get my free Slurpee this year which made me sad. So I started thinking about how I could easily make something similar. Have you heard of Granita? It’s a fancy Slurpee! Doesn’t Granita sound better than Slurpee? Actually, a Granita is better than a Slurpee and as I was checking out granita ideas, I realized that you can pretty much make them in a rainbow of colors and flavors.

ETCETERAS: How to Galvanize and Rust a Tin

There are many methods to age metal. Depending on the type of metal and the look you want, you can turn your new metal objects into super rusty pieces, chippy, a patina finish or the look of galvanized metal. I was going for the galvanized metal look and ended up with galvanized metal with rust.

BE MY GUEST: Beach Vignette by An Extraordinary Day

Every summer growing up, I spent time at the beach. It's my favorite place in all the world. I can close my eyes and dream of splashing waves and sand between my toes.... Ahhhh....   All the dreaming in the world just might not get either of us to the beach. No worries... We can create a beach vignette. Don't roll your eyes....it really is a sweet band-aid solution. And it's super easy to do.

Coastal beachy tray vignette :: AnExtraordinaryDay.netHave you ever noticed play sand for sale at the garden center? When you do...be sure to buy a bag. Yes...it may be more than you need, but I'm pretty certain that once you have your bag of sand, you'll be glad you bought it (and it certainly won't break the bank). Plus, you'll find lots of ways to use that sand.

Hi there, Homework readers! My name is Julia and I blog at It's Always Ruetten! Thank for having me over! I am really excited to be here today to fill in for a great blogger! It's not everyday that one of my favorite bloggers asks me to step in for them. Thanks, Carolyn for the opportunity to introduce myself to your readers!
It's Always Ruetten
Over at It's Always Ruetten I blog about DIY projects, handmade cards, my attempts at cooking, and other fun adventures about living in the Southwest!

After checking out my recipe below, I hope you'll hop on over and read more about what I'm all about!

So, onto the reason I'm here today! To share a tasty (seriously, OMG) recipe for Peanut Butter & Jelly Cookies! This idea came to me after standing in front of the vending machine at my office, indecisive between the raspberry thumbprint cookies and the peanut butter and cracker sandwiches. All it took was finding an old handwritten recipe of my mom's to kick me into gear!

BE MY GUEST: Watercolor Projects & Printables by Persia Lou

Hey there Homework readers! My name is Alexis, and I am excited to be here filling in for Carolyn today! I blog over at Persia Lou where I write about my latest crafty, crochet, or DIY adventures.

Lately, I have been really into watercolors. I love the layered, translucent look of watercolor. They can be a bit frustrating to work with sometimes because they can be a bit difficult to control, but that element of the unexpected is kind of what makes them so much fun!
