INKLING: Free Printable Spice Labels

Sauce Jar Upcycle to Spice Jars with Printable Labels - homework (6)Yesterday I shared my new recycled pasta sauce spice jars. I just love how they turned out and I feel like I’ve made another small step toward organizing and decluttering. I know that there’s no shortage of spice jar labels out there but I still wanted to share the ones that I made with you.

WELL-ORGANIZED: Upcycled Jars to Spice Jars

Sauce Jar Upcycle to Spice Jars with Printable Labels - homework (5)I’m still getting organized. I suspect it’s going to take me all year and by that time it will be time to start all over again. You know, declutter, organize, rinse, repeat. While I was storing bins in the garage, I discovered I had saved several pasta sauce jars that all matched. Hooray for matchy-matchy!

HOMEWORK: A Small Change for the Better

Hello friends! Many of you already know that I’ve been blogging for over 4 years now. When I started blogging my work as a marketing consultant had slowed (aka unemployed). About a year and a half ago, I started consulting again part time. Six months ago the company I was consulting for hired me full time and I’ve been juggling the blog schedule and my job ever since. It’s actually very doable since our son is now in college. I work on this blog in the early mornings (with my coffee), evenings and weekends.

Starting this week, I’m going to make a few small changes to the blog schedule to allow me more time over the weekends to prepare the posts. I want to enjoy the process instead of feeling rushed and stressed to meet deadlines. Currently, I host The Inspiration Board Creative Party every Tuesday and post the features every Friday with my projects on the other days.

Here’s what you can expect starting this week.

189Monday:
Features from the previous link party. This will give me more time to go through the links which I love doing.

ETCETERAS: Easy 5-Minute Canvas Notepad Holder

Easy Canvas Notepad Holder via homeworkI have to confess, I’m a bit of a notepad hoarder. I love pretty notepads and often receive them as gifts. The problem is I love them so much I don’t use them. I’ll grab other bits of paper to jot a note and “save” my pretty notepads.

The Inspiration Board: Spotlight 189 & Hanging Around Inspiration

TGIF everyone!! Phew, what a week. But we did it. We created and inspired each other through another week. Hooray for creativity. A big thank you to everyone who stopped by this week and especially to those who shared a project on The Inspiration Board.

There’s been a lot of discussion among bloggers about link parties, the value of them, whether to keep hosting them, whether to co-host with several bloggers to form a mega party etc. I’ve been solo-hosting my link party for almost four years now. The number of links goes up and down and I’ve toyed with the idea of joining a group or at least co-hosting with someone else. I don’t want a mega party with over 500 links but I’d like to offer you more visibility for your projects. I’m not sure what to do. If you have an opinion, leave me a comment. For now, I’m leaning toward keeping my party small and just here on homework. As always, I post the features on Friday and leave that as the top post all weekend to hopefully give the features additional traffic.

Well, enough rambling about the link parties. Let’s get to this week’s features but first up, here’s what I shared this week.

Here are this week’s beautiful features in the spotlight.

Friends, the big game is coming up and if you’re like me, it’s all about the food and snacks. Well, a little about the game but the food is a big part of it. I’ve rounded up some of my very own recipes that I’ve shared here in the past years that make great game day eats. There’s sandwiches, snacks, healthy options, desserts and even a little treat for your four-legged friends. Enjoy the game – enjoy the food – enjoy the fun.

HOME ROOM: Freshening the Living Room

Mohawk Carpet Living Room Decor via homework (15)I have a bad case of the organizing and freshening bug. I’ve been moving things around, decluttering and I’m eager to start on some home décor projects. I have loads of ideas but first on my list was our living room. I was lucky enough to receive a new SmartStrand Forever Clean bound carpet from Mohawk and it was just the inspiration I needed to do some additional freshening to the room.

What better way to get organized then by upcycling items you would most likely throw out or recycle? I found 10 fantastic ideas for getting organized and then best part is these are all very easily created.
