UPCYCLING: Grey Felt Fall Treat Tin

Grey Felt Fall Treat Tin - carolynshomework (6)I’m so excited to finally be sharing some real fall projects. First up is this simple treat can. The combination of grey felt, beautiful, crisp  fall leaves and turquoise is quite possibly my favorite fall combination to date.

Grey Felt Fall Treat Tin - carolynshomework (3)These treat cans are so simple. All you need are some recycled cans, fall leaves, twine and double stick tape. My can is a nut can but a coffee can would be perfect too. The leaves are from my recent trip to Washington. I brought them back in my suitcase and they survived the journey.

Grey Felt Fall Treat Tin - carolynshomework (4)Simply cut your felt to fit the can and use strong double-sided tape to stick it on. Pick a couple of leaves and wrap them in twine or embroidery floss. Rather than use the lid, I like to package my goodies in cellophane or parchment paper. Make sure you seal them up in a baggie first so they stay fresh.

Grey Felt Fall Treat Tin - carolynshomework.comThe perfect fall treat to include in your pretty tin? Graham Cracker Toffee Bark from The Pioneer Woman’s Tasty Kitchen {click over for the easy recipe}.

Graham Cracker BarkI’ve shared these before here on the blog and as you can see in the photo above, I added chopped almonds that time.

Grey Felt Fall Treat Tin - carolynshomework (8)Just a warning – this bark is so good it’s almost addicting. A friend who makes a similar recipe has nicknamed the bark after a very bad drug because of it’s addicting power. Yup, you’ll want to get the bark wrapped up and gifted so it’s not in your house too long.

Grey Felt Fall Treat Tin - carolynshomework (2)Of course, you have to keep a little for yourself.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
