INSPIRATION: Stress Buster and Healthy Living Ideas

Stress Buster & Healthy Living Ideas

Hello friends. Last week my day job kept me super busy – busier than usual.. If you didn’t know, I work full time as Senior Marketing Manager. I blog in the mornings, evenings and weekends. It was hard to unwind each night and by the end of the week, I was exhausted. Typically, I create my projects in the evenings, shoot and edit photos on Saturday and write and schedule all my posts on Sunday. Last week I got a little more behind every day and with Easter prep I had no time to catch up, create or shoot photos.

CELEBRATIONS: Seasons–Fall color Inspiration

Fall 6Now that Labor Day is behind us, I should be in full fall mode. The problem is – it’s hot! This happens every year. We live near the coast and it usually doesn’t really feel like summer until late August through October. In order to get myself excited for fall, I usually put together an inspiration board or idea book.
I dug through my seasonal craft supplies and cupboards to pull together some items that will hopefully get me moving on fall dĂ©cor and thought I’d share my mood boards with you.

Etceteras: getting ready for fall

I’m really trying to get in the mood for fall. But it’s really hard to get motivated when it’s still so hot outside. It’s sort of like shopping for sweaters when it’s 90 degrees outside.

Inspiration: dream vacation

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of VISIT FLORIDA for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Shell Inspiration
Have you planned your summer vacation yet? Vacations not only create lasting family memories but they’re a great way to rest, relax and refuel your creativity.

A favorite source of inspiration for me is the beach. Several of my projects {above} draw from shells and natural beachy elements. Since I live by the beach on the west coast, I could just plan a stay-cation but in order to really rest and relax, I need to get away.

The vacation I’m dreaming about is a trip to Florida. The beaches in Florida are gorgeous – all 825 miles of them. That’s a lot of beach - I just need a tiny spot of sand and I’ll be happy.

Etceteras: white on white inspiration

I created this white on white inspiration sign recently. I’m going to hang it over my bulletin board where I hang inspiring photos and project ideas.

painted-label-treat-jars-1_thumb
These cute treat jars were the original inspiration for the project. I came across these on Addicted to Decorating and was so intrigued by the raised lettering. The post reveals that the letters are chipboard scrap booking letters spray painted white.

White Collage
I loved the white on white effect and headed to Pinterest to check out some other ideas. Here are a few that I found.

1. Beach – Nautical Cottage
2. If I could choose – The Adventures of Mrs. Reagan
3. And they lived happily ever after – Not on the High Street
4. Mixed typeface – HGTV Urban Oasis
5. P.S. I love you – Keep Home Simple

I was ready to get started on my white on white sign. I had all the supplies on hand; chipboard letters, a piece of wood and white spray paint. Here’s what the letters looked like before I painted them.

And here’s the finished sign. I still need to add a picture hanger to the back and hang it over my board but even propped up on a shelf I feel inspired.

Upcycling: inspiration vases

You know those days you need a boost and another cup of coffee just doesn’t do the trick? Today, I needed an extra dose of inspiration so I decided to make something that would inspire me visually and with words.

I printed out some inspirational quotes and framed them.

I added four little vases and placed them on top of each quote.

This project can be created with any size frame and any type of vase. You can use a small single frame with a tiny vase for place cards or party favors.

For this project, the frame was purchased at the 99 cent store and the vases were a sweet find at my favorite thrift shop.

The cuttings were borrowed from my neighbors – I’m sure they won’t mind…
