UPCYCLING: Candy Tins to Travel Tins
I’ve saving up these little candy tins so that I could upcycle them into something. I wasn’t sure how I was going to use them but little tins always come in handy.

DRESS CODE: Beautiful Bellevue & What I Wore

Hello friends. I took my third business trip to Bellevue, Washington a few weeks ago and was in awe of the beautiful seasonal changes, the crisp air and the love the people of Washington have for their beloved Seattle Seahawks Football team.
It's a short flight from Los Angeles to Seattle and the company I work for always sends a town car to pick me up at the airport. It's such a treat and I love feeling so special. I snapped this picture of myself in the town car doing my best celebrity gaze impression.

DRESS CODE: What I Wore {Business Travel Clothes for 50+}

As you can see from my post title, I’m in the 50+ age group (eeeep how did that happen?) so I don’t want to dress too young but I also don’t want to dress matronly. So here are the outfits I wore and a few tips that I learned for my next trip in a few months.

WEEKEND INSPIRATION: Zen Travel

Hello, hello everyone and happy Friday! I’ve been away this week on business travel. Have you missed me? You probably didn’t even know I was away. Since I can preschedule posts, I got busy and decided not to call on guest posters.
I’ll be back today. Fingers crossed I don’t arrive home to a complete disaster and mess at home. I left hubs and the teenager to fend for themselves. Anyway, while I was preparing for my trip I was focused on traveling tips and gathered up these goodies to share with you. Not your typical, packing hacks but little things that can help one de-stress, boost your energy, and make travel a little more comfortable. So while I get settled, enjoy these great ideas for your next trip.

EXTRA CREDIT: Summer Dreams Have Luggage will Travel Giveaway

Aren’t these photos fantastic? My friend Izzy traveled the world for a year visiting over 24 countries and blogged about it. It was so inspiring. Just seeing these photos makes me want to pack my bags and explore. Izzy traveled with just a duffel bag and day pack but I’m more of a hotel and luggage girl.

Sew and Tell: travel map
Have you seen those apps that flag your travels on a map? You can create one on your computer or smartphone. I created a low tech version using a map and French knots.
I thought it would be fun to keep track of the places I’ve visited.
I printed out a map and made little French knots on the different United States cities I’ve been to. I’d like to make a matching world map and “flag” the countries I’ve been lucky enough to visit.
This would make a fun project to do with kids and a great way to review geography. How about you? Are you planning a spring break vacation?

The Inspiration Board: around the world
I have to admit, I’m not very adventurous. But I’m in awe of people who are. You know, people who climb mountains, bungee jump and travel the world. That pretty much describes my friend, Izzy. A few years ago, he left for a year-long around-the-world adventure that took him to 24 countries with hundreds of stops.
Here are just a few of his insights from around the world.
Most inspirational sight: Grand Canyon, Iguazu Falls, Petra, Angkor Wat, Chilean Patagonias.
Most inspirational person: A family of Cambodians that he met on a bus who invited him to their family reunion reuniting four generations.
Most inspirational meal: Bife de lomo steak in Buenos Aires
Most inspirational moment: Climbing Villarrica volcano
His photography was filled with color, texture and emotion.
I’m not sure I’ll ever travel around the world but it sure was fun tagging along.
