Celebrations: snowy candle centerpiece

I can’t seem to stop spraying canned snow on all my projects lately. Maybe it’s because I live in an area that doesn’t get real snow. In fact it’s usually bright and sunny here for for most of the winter and I’m envious of all the visions of a beautiful white Christmas.

I love this large square vase that I have and wanted to make an oversized votive with it. I had several ideas but couldn’t resist going for a snowy look and giving the edge a border of snow.

To achieve a clean line of snow, wrap your glass in plastic and use painter’s tape along the top edge of the plastic.

Spray your glass lightly with canned snow (the type used to flock a Christmas tree). If you make a mistake simply wash your glass and start over.

Add some Kosher, Course or Epsom Salt to the bottom of your glass and nestle your candle.

I felt my candle looked a little lonely and added a little snowman figurine to the snow scene. Cute – but not quite the look I wanted.

I found some glass floral d├ęcor in my supplies and added a few stems around the candle.

Perfect. I can’t wait to light the candle to see how the snow and red glass floral reflect the light.
