Etceteras: golden eggs

Add a touch of elegance to your décor with golden eggs.

These eggs started out as regular plastic Easter eggs. I gave them several coats of gold spray paint. Added some organza ribbon and topped them with a silk flower.

Use them as place cards by simply adding a tag or nameplate tucked into the ribbon. Or, display them on candleholders, champagne flutes or vases as I did for a centerpiece.
I love the pastels of spring but a little touch of elegance is a nice break.

Upcycling: gold leaf pitcher

I recently gave this pitcher a second chance. The pitcher was sitting in a cupboard because the colors didn’t match my décor.

Here’s the original pitcher.

I covered the pitcher in several light coats of Heirloom White spray paint. Once it was dry I laid cuttings of fern leaves on the pitcher and lightly spray painted around the leaves in gold.

Once the fern leaves were removed, I had a nice negative print of the leaves.
The best part… if I get tired of this look, I can spray paint it a different color.

Etceteras: easter décor

I’m really enjoying the beginning of spring; outside the weather is warming up, the birds are nesting and the flowers are blooming.

Indoors, we get to enjoy pretty spring and Easter décor. Some of the projects that I’ve made are displayed on my kitchen hutch.

My pink berry wreath hangs from the top of the hutch.

Cherry blossom twigs coordinate with the wreath.

My twine and rag nest holds my cracked shell eggs.

A bird from a previous centerpiece sits by the nest.

Scattered silk flowers and leaves tie into the pink and green color palette.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend. I hope you’re enjoying spring inside and outside wherever you are.
