Etceteras: Romantic Dream Catcher

Dream Catcher 8AHave you ever seen a dream catcher? Dream catchers originate from Native Americans and they are typically made on hoops with netting in the middle and feathers hanging from the hoop.

The Inspiration Board: creative party [106]

Welcome to The Inspiration Board creative party! Tuesday is my favorite day because I can sit back and enjoy your creativity. I love being inspired by all the wonderful projects you graciously share here. I've been noticing a trend in sand and shell projects, berry recipes and fun travel stories - but that's what summer is all about.
Now on to the creative party. I can't wait to see what you've been up to.

Etceteras: shells, shells, shells

Are you as excited about summer as I am? And once the summer bug hits, do you break out the shells, coral and starfish? I live near the coast, so I’m not sure if the shell mania is as big a deal in other parts of the world. I do know that there is plenty of beachy, shell inspiration on blogs, Pinterest and online publications. And since I love all things beach and coastal related, I thought I’d do a little shell round up to share.

The Inspiration Board: creative party spotlight ~105~

Happy Friday everyone! Here we are in June! How did that happen? My son is out for summer – yay! My mornings will be a little more leisurely for awhile. And for a few months, I’m going to enjoy: no brown bag lunches, no rushing out the door in my slippers with my coffee mug to run him to school and no yelling “did you do your homework?” – yes sirree, three cheers for summer.

If you didn’t have a chance to stop by this week, here’s what I shared.

Wishing you all a great weekend. Enjoy these projects in the spotlight this week.

The Dirt: Oz the Great and Powerful Fairy Garden

Oz the Great and Powerful China Town Garden via homework (1)-001

Have you seen Oz the Great and Powerful? Oh my goodness – the movie is amazing and the visuals are breathtaking. I won’t go into the whole movie since you may not have seen it and the DVD is just coming out but I was inspired to create this pretty little garden inspired by China Town, home to China Girl, a character in the movie.

Dress Code: flip flop refashion

Flip Flops 6Three cheers for summer! Here in Southern California, people wear flip flops year round. Not me – my feet get cold in the winter but once the weather warms up, I break out the flip flops and don’t look back until the winter rolls around again.
