There’s something so contagious about fall décor. That glimpse of the first preseason catalog or magazine with beautiful fall colors had me eager to start working with warm browns, gold and neutrals.
Martha Stewart craft products were the perfect supplies to use to create my fall centerpiece. The paint colors come in a rich array of colors. Some of the colors that I used for this project were; garnet, florentine gold, rust and yellow gold. How can you not feel all fallish with names like those.
Besides having the opportunity to use the paints, I was thrilled to test out the Martha Stewart Adhesive Silkscreens and tools. Silkscreens are slightly different than stencils. The detail is very fine and the paint is pushed through tiny holes in the screen. I chose to use the silkscreen on fabric which really doesn’t highlight the details but it still produced a beautiful print.
I used one of the leaf silkscreens to create multi-color leaves on beige fabric. Gold course glitter paint gave my seed pods some sparkle. I also used the paints on some twigs and berries.
And just for fun, here’s a shot of my work in progress. I know… what a mess my table is but what fun!
1. Silkscreened leaves on fabric drying. Yes, they’re taped to my sewing machine. 2. Unidentified object. 3. Plastic pumpkin – not part of this project. 4. Branch that will be used for the centerpiece. 5. Martha Stewart paints that I used. 6. Leaves being cut out. 7. Seed pods painted and drying. 8. Painted floral berries drying.
Here are some of the pieces created from the Martha Stewart paints, silkscreens and craft tools. A simple delicate twig painted gold with a single fabric leaf tops a linen napkin.
