ACCESSORIES: Craft Stick Wrapped Bracelets

Craft Stick Twine Wrapped Bangle Bracelets via homework Have you ever made popsicle stick bracelets? It’s an old-school craft that’s been around for a long time. For this project, I’m using craft sticks. They’re narrower and a little longer than a popsicle stick. You can get them at most craft stores.

Craft Stick Twine Wrapped Bangle Bracelets via homework To start with you soak your craft sticks in water. I soaked mine for about 3 hours. I might not have broken so many if I had soaked them longer but I’m impatient and 3 hours was long enough to wait. Once the sticks are pliable you carefully bend them into a bracelet shape. If you want a round bracelet you can bend the bracelet and set it inside a glass to dry. I wanted mine more oval shaped so I bent the stick and then used a binder clip to keep the shape.

I chose to paint my sticks silver. I love silver bangles and so I used Martha Stewart Craft Paint in Sterling Silver. Once the paint was dry, I used some vintage crochet thread to wrap the bracelets. Use a dab of craft glue on the inside of the bracelet and start wrapping.

Craft Stick Twine Wrapped Bangle Bracelets via homework I’m gearing up for warm weather and stacks of these fun bracelets will be a nice accessory. Grab some craft sticks and make some of your own.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
