WEEKEND INSPIRATION: Something Blue
And just like that we’ve arrived at the last Friday of May. It seems like just the other day, we were all recovering from the holiday madness and looking ahead to spring. Now summer is literally around the corner. I hope you have some fun and relaxing activities planned for the weekend. I’m getting ready to travel for business (my day job) so I’ll be running around picking up last minutes things and finalizing my outfits. A week of meetings, dinners and more meetings requires a lot of planning. I’m a little stressed about my business travel so I’ve been gazing at some pretty things in my favorite color - light blue. While I make yet another list enjoy this blue inspiration.

GOOD TASTE: Beet & Apple Salsa
Beets seem to be all the rage lately and since I had never cooked with beets before, I decided to give it a try. It’s hard to resist that beautiful deep red color and I love trying out new dishes that are interesting both visually and to the taste buds.

The Inspiration Board: Spotlight 207 & Inspiring White
Welcome to a new week here on homework. Today in the United States it’s Memorial Day. A day when we honor those who have sacrificed for our country. This three day weekend also unofficially marks the beginning of summer – kids are ending the school year, the weather is turning warmer and the days are longer. I know many of you may be enjoying the day with family and friends and firing up the barbeque. Whatever you have planned, I hope you enjoy.
Thank you to all of you who stopped by last week and shared your projects on The Inspiration Board. As always, it was a gallery of eye candy. In case you didn’t have a chance to visit, here’s what I shared last week.

WEEKEND INSPIRATION: Natural Plant & Flower Dye
TGIF everyone! Here in the U.S. we have a 3-day weekend! I can’t wait to have that extra day so I can get caught up. What are you planning for the weekend? I’m thinking about trying some natural plant dye. I’ll probably start with beets. I just love the deep rich color a beets and can’t wait to try my hand at dying some fabric or paper. I’ve been checking out some ideas and gathered up some of my favorites to share with you. Enjoy these fantastic projects while I get ready to boil some beets.

BLOOM: Pressed Hydrangeas
Hydrangeas are definitely one of my favorite flowers but I’ve never been able to successfully get mine to bloom in blue. I know it depends on factors in the soil but whatever I do, I get bright pink blooms. They’re still gorgeous but I do love the look of the blue hydrangeas.

The Inspiration Board: Creative Party 207 & Flip Flop Refashion Time
Last week I messed up you guys! Every Tuesday The Inspiration Board opens at 1:00 a.m. PST. After I wake up and get my coffee, I check the link party and look through all the link ups that have been shared while I was sleeping. Last week, I messed up the code and woke up to zero links. It’s like no one showing up to your house when you’re having a party. The good news is there were still plenty of projects shared once I fixed the post and loads of amazing inspiration.
So, welcome to this week’s Inspiration Board creative party! I’m going to double check the link code this week so we can all party together! Share your creativity by linking up below. I love pinning and sharing your projects. Remember, the features are now on Monday – you can check out last weeks’ features below or by clicking HERE.

The Inspiration Board: Spotlight 206 & Inspiring Little Bites
Hello everyone – I hope you had a fantastic weekend. Welcome to another week here on homework. Last week The Inspiration Board party started a little late because I messed up the link code. There were fewer link ups but none the less, the projects were amazing as always. If you missed the party last week because of my airhead-face-plant moment, I hope you come back tomorrow and share your projects.
And in case you missed anything last week, here’s what I shared last week.

Weekend Inspiration: Trending | Copper
TGIF everyone! We made it through another week – decorating, crafting, baking, cooking, sewing and more. What are you up to this weekend? I’ll be doing more spring cleaning and organizing. Plus, I’m getting ready for some business travel in June for my day job and I think a shopping trip for some new clothes might be in the schedule. Between all that, I’m thinking about how I can collect some copper items to add to my décor.
Have you noticed the copper trend lately? I used to have some great cupper mugs and I’m hoping I stored them in the attic. The problem is there are so many boxes up there, it would take me all day to find them. I love the warmth that copper pieces adds to a table, mantel or hutch so it might be worth a trip up to the dusty attic. In the meantime, enjoy these lovely copper examples.

LITTLE CRAFT: Recycled Container Scare Cat
Here’s a fun little craft for little crafters just in time for your spring vegetable garden. Make a scare cat out of recycled plastic containers to keep the critters away from your vegetables. Or that’s the idea anyway.

The Inspiration Board: Spotlight 204 & International Delights
Hello, hello friends. Welcome to another week here on homework. You may have noticed posts were lighter last week. Between my day job and family, I just couldn’t squeeze out enough time to create and share more with you. It was actually the first time in five years that I didn’t post daily – but I’m feeling okay about it.
We’ve been spending every spare minute moving our college son home from school. How do you squeeze a dorm room full of stuff into an already full house? It’s been challenging and we’ve been moving furniture around, organizing and purging. I’m starting to see the light at the end of the cluttered tunnel.

Here’s what I shared last week – a Mediterranean Inspired Tablescape with discount store plates.
And now on to the projects featured this week.
