The Inspiration Board: creative party spotlight ~112~
Happy Friday everyone! It was another fun and creative week here on homework. I thought I was going to be on jury duty starting next week but I postponed it for a few weeks because of other family commitments. I had prepared some fun round up posts in case I got on a jury and I’ll be sprinkling them in here and there. I hope you enjoy them. How about you? Do you have more time to be creative in the summer or less time because of other commitments?
In case you didn’t have a chance to stop by this week, here is what I shared.
Now on to the features from The Inspiration Board Creative Party. Thank you to each and every one of you who took the time to stop by, comment or share your creativity!

Extra Credit: It’s almost Back-To-School time
This post brought to you by White Cloud. All opinions are 100% mine.
I know we’re only a little over halfway through summer but it’s starting to happen. The words “back-to-school” are starting to creep into my brain. If you have kids, is it happening to you? Are you starting to make mental lists or even written lists of what you need to get.

Good Taste: We All Scream For Ice Cream
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Unilever Ice Cream. All opinions are 100% mine.
We love ice cream year round but it’s especially good in these hot summer months. I usually keep the freezer stocked with some type of tasty frozen treat. It’s such a quick and easy way to satisfy that sweet craving. I recently got to sample six types of ice cream products. I know… it was rough.

UPCYCLING: Shopping bag to teen decor
My son has reached the age where he likes to pick out his own clothes. Long gone are the days of cute matching clothes that I would pick out. He typically likes the beachy surf and skate shop type clothing stores that are everywhere here in Southern California.

Homework ~ Extra Credit: Daily Deals
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of ToAdorn. All opinions are 100% mine.
Friends, I have a new daily deal website to share with you. I love daily deals and this one is so fun. It’s called ToAdorn and it features fashion, accessories and home décor. The neat thing about ToAdorn is that they team up with some of the best sellers around and feature their products which of course, are usually the latest trends. While I was shopping on ToAdorn, I saw stamped metal, burlap, chevron and more. All the things we love and see on our favorite sites and blogs.

It’s a wrap: Fabric & Garlands
I love pretty packages but I have to confess, I do use and reuse gift bags now and then. But when I have time, I like to make gifts extra special. Wrapping paper can be expensive. I don’t like expensive – especially when it’s something that’s going to be ripped open and thrown away. One of my favorite ways to wrap gifts is with things that I have around the house. Leftover fabric, paper, recycled materials… it can all be used to make a package pretty.

Good Taste: Classic southern chocolate pie
I tried out a new recipe. This is a Classic Southern Chocolate Pie. I’ve had Chocolate Cream Pie, Mousse Pie, Brownie Pie, Pudding Pie and Boston Cream Pie (ok, that’s not really a pie), but I never had tried this classic southern dessert.

Be My Guest: The Silly Pearl
Happy Fourth of July everyone! I hope you all enjoy the holiday - if you’re here in the U.S. If not, well, happy Thursday to everyone else. Today, while I’m still away, I have the wonderful and adorable Steph from The Silly Pearl holding down the fort.
Hello! My name is Steph and I write over at The Silly Pearl about the crafts I make and the thrifting I do in between cuddles with my six year old twin girls. I am so honored to be posting here on Homework today, as Carolyn is such a wonderful friend and great supporter of her fellow bloggers! And you all know about her amazing style, of course!
Is it the 4th of July already? Time to make a new wreath for my front door. I’m so excited to share it with you my Patriotic Sunburst Wreath today.
I had recently made a larger sunburst wreath in more pastel-y colors for the spring, and I had just enough wood pieces left (game pieces from the thrift store) to make a smaller version of it in patriotic colors. I used a small wreath form from the craft store to anchor everything together.

Be My Guest: Will Cook for Smiles
I’m still on a little break but have such a treat for you today. Lyuba from Will Cook For Smiles has been a regular contributor to The Inspiration Board creative party for quite awhile. Her dishes and goodies are always amazing so I’m thrilled that she’s here today to share with you.
Hello to all of you, lovely readers of Carolyn's Homework! I'm Lyuba From Will Cook For Smiles! I'm happy to be here, giving Carolyn a little summer break! While I got your attention, I might as well share an awesome recipe with you.
Today, I'm sharing an amazing cookie recipe that I've been making for years. I love these cookies so much because they are not just chewy but also crispy! How, you ask? They are nicely chewy in the middle but sweet and crispy on the outside.
