Good Taste: Classic southern chocolate pie

I tried out a new recipe. This is a Classic Southern Chocolate Pie. I’ve had Chocolate Cream Pie, Mousse Pie, Brownie Pie, Pudding Pie and Boston Cream Pie (ok, that’s not really a pie), but I never had tried this classic southern dessert.

Be My Guest: The Taylor House
Friends, I’m away for a few days and have some wonderful guests lined up to share fantastic crafts, décor, recipes and more with you. And what better way to start off than with chocolate! Please welcome Chrissy from The Taylor House .
Hi, everyone! It’s Chrissy from The Taylor House! I am so excited to be sharing some of my family’s favorite Chocolate dessert recipes with you today. I have picked ten of our favorites that range from brownies to hot chocolate and all of them contain our favorite ingredient – Chocolate!
I love trying new recipes or creating my own new chocolate version of a recipe for my family. My boys love it when I make desserts and they seem to always be requesting desserts with either chocolate, peanut butter or caramel. So, I have quite a list of chocolate dessert recipes in my file and have tried to share them with my readers and fans. I think that it is my mission in life to make as many delicious looking and tasting recipes as I can!
What are your favorite dessert recipes? Do you always make them the same or do you change them up and try new things? Does your favorites include chocolate or do you prefer peanut butter or maybe even fruit? Do you prefer a cookie type dessert or more of a cake type dessert?

Good Taste: chocolate tea bag tags

Well, the weather was turning to fall and I thought some hot tea would be nice. But then we had a sudden last burst of summer. So let me start off this post with some advice – don’t make these chocolates on a hot day and try to take pictures of them next to a hot cup of tea. Both you and the chocolates will be melting before long.

Good Taste: cupcakes ~ and black & white inspiration

Yum! I made these cupcakes the other day. I wish I could go on and on about the ingredients and provide you with the recipe, but I must confess, they are from a mix.

These are my new go-to quick dessert. They’re Duncan Hines Triple Chocolate Decadent cake mix. This isn’t a sponsored post – I just really like this cake. My family loves it too. Whip up a batch and in the eyes of your family, you’re a rock-star!
The cupcakes are all gone but while I was editing the photos, the dark chocolate and white powdered sugar got me thinking about the different black and/or white projects I’ve made. So I created a black and a white pinboard collage.

{Black Pinboard} top left – clockwise: Black & White Gift Wrap, Fortune Cookies, Envelope Card, His & Her Painted Mugs, Black Crepe Paper Flowers
{White Pinboard} top left – clockwise: Fuzzy Yarn Sheep, Spring Candles, White Camellia, Capiz Shell Tidbit Stand, Paper Flower Jar Lids
Thanks for visiting.

Show and Tell: chocolate, chocolate, chocolate

I must have been craving chocolate when I was deciding what to share with you for Show and Tell this week.
My first stop was The Answer is Chocolate. Carol at The Answer is Chocolate made these beautiful chocolate covered strawberries and cookies.
The Answer is Chocolate is great source for chocolately goodies and recipes but also wonderful crafts.

Check out these chocolate covered oreos. They’re little works of art. You can find these at Shindigs Parties to Go.
Suzy over at Suzy’s Sitcom made a zero calorie chocolate pincushion. They look good enough to eat!
I'm amazed at these lattice chocolate cups from Childmade. They are so pretty with the fresh fruit and don't look too difficult to make.
Also, since there’s fruit involved, the chocolate calories don’t count. This is definitely on my summer list.
