Inkling: embroidery cards

Have you ever embroidered on paper? I made some new cards embroidering on cardstock.

I’m not sure if I used the proper technique but here’s the process I used.

I found a piece of clip art that I liked and printed it out. I taped the clipart to my cardstock using painter’s tape. I poked holes through the clipart and cardstock with a needle and then removed the clipart and tape. I then stitched using the holes I created.

These make great special occasion cards but I think they would also look nice framed for a child’s room.
