Sew and Tell: mother’s day memory pillow

I recently received these aprons among other things from a friend who lost her mother. She gave them to me to use as crafting supplies knowing I wasn’t the type to wear an apron.

For the longest time I didn’t want to cut them up but with Mother’s Day approaching, I had an inspiration. I would cut them but the first thing that I made would be something for my friend so she could have a part of her mother’s aprons.

I made her this mini pillow with rosettes.
I hope she likes it.

  2. She WON'T like it, Carolyn. She will LOVE it. What a sweet, thoughtful thing to do. VERY typical of you, I can tell! If this touches ME so strongly, I can only imagine how deeply it will touch your friend. I may never have MET you (officially) but I already just love you!

  4. the most lovely idea ever! She is bound to love it. I made a pillow for my brother on father's day, a couple of years ago with some fabric from a kimono our father used to wear. Now he's not really a pillow kind of guy, but he loved it. He totally remembered the fabric. I have one too and just love it. You are so thoughtful!!
