I’m happy to be participating in the Make it Merry holiday celebration. Organized by Diane at Home Sweet Homemade – Make it Merry is 14 days of holiday creativity by 14 different bloggers. Check the bottom of this post for the complete schedule where you’ll find an assortment of holiday inspiration.
My creative contribution to the Make it Merry celebration is holiday gift wrap.
This year, I decided to go with a black and white theme and then give it some holiday glitz with a splash of gold.
For all the gift wrap used on these packages, I didn’t buy anything new. I had a few ideas but basically pulled out a variety of craft supplies, papers and embellishments in black, white and gold.
This gift is wrapped in plain white printer paper. I cut strips of black heavy paper to use as ribbon. The gold sticks are the bottoms of some curly ting floral that I cut off. Simple, stark and modern packaging.
This small gift is wrapped in freezer paper with the glossy side out. I again cut a wide piece of black heavy paper to use as ribbon. The leaves and twigs are leftover from Thanksgiving projects and I spray painted them gold.
This package is also wrapped in freezer paper. I wrapped gold organza ribbon around the box and glued on black sequins for a festive feminine look.
This gift is wrapped in white corrugated paper that I had used on a few projects last year. I used black & white baker’s twine and covered each knot in a small gold star. The gold stars are large sequins that I spray painted gold.
Black crepe paper streamers leftover from Halloween projects act as ribbon for this package. I made a flower out of the same crepe paper and added gold leaves and the tops of the curly ting floral.
It’s fun to be creative with your gift wrap and it’s a great way to use up craft supplies. I hope you enjoyed my gift wrap ideas and find inspiration from the rest of the Make it Merry celebration.

Your wrapping is lovely and oh so elegant. I loved your creativity in using the sticks.
ReplyDeleteAll your wrapping looks gorgeous! I always admire the amazing and creative wrapping done by others and intend to try it out myself (then leave my wrapping 'til last minute and attack everyone's presents with Poundland wrapping paper and sellotape *is a terrible person*)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, you are one skilled lady! :) Your choice of colours is totally classy!
