Sew and Tell: stamped fabric pillow

Last week, I posted about some fun stamps I tried out.

On one of the projects, I used craft paint and stamped some plain white canvas fabric. I mentioned that I planned on making a pillow out of the stamped fabric. Since I received some requests to see the finished pillow, I thought I’d better bust out the sewing machine.

For some reason, I couldn’t decide how I wanted to make this pillow. The stamped fabric was very bright and cheery and since my projects usually have more of neutral or pastel palette I may have been on sensory overload. I should have stepped away and stared at a beige wall or something but I persevered!

I ended up choosing some pink coordinating fabrics to use as a top and bottom border for the pillow.

And since I was working outside my usual color box, I decided to go crazy and add a bright green ribbon to the pillow.

Not at all what I first intended to make but it was fun creating something so bright and cheerful.
{ Watch for that pretty pink bird in the photos to make a starring appearance in a future craft }

Thanks for visiting.
