Etcetoras: twiggy tissue box

I’ve been on the hunt for a tissue box cover for a long time. The problem is I like to buy tissues in the large size box and all the covers are usually designed for the small upright box or the smallest flat size.

In the meantime, I’ve been living with the designs that the tissue companies insist will go with my décor. You know, purple flowers, bright geometric patterns, swirly pastels and so on. I’m more of a plain person.

Taking matters into my own hands, I chopped the top off of a tissue box and covered it in a layer of white paper and then a layer of white corrugated paper. I opted to go without the top and the little slit that you pull the tissues from.

And, even though I said I wanted a plain box, I couldn’t resist adding twigs to my box.

A little forest of twigs in all different colors and textures.

Tissue?

  8. What a great idea! And you're right: the patterns and colors those companies "think" will go with our individual styles just don't work...at all. :)
