One can never have enough storage jars in my opinion. I’ve been saving up jars
and love how these bright and cheery jars turned out. They’re the perfect size
for smaller pantry items.
I made quite a few in a variety of sizes. These will come in handy when you have
just a little bit left of something and that darn package or box is taking up
precious pantry space.
The fun part is adding a color knob to the top of the jar. I used plain wooden
knobs that I had intended to use on some bureaus. The wood knobs ended up not
working out for my furniture transformation so I’ve been saving them to use on
something else. You can easily turn old knobs into faux ceramic knobs using Mod
Podge and paper. I used decorative napkins to make these knobs. Simply cut out
your paper larger than the top of the knob and adhere the cut out to the knob
with Mod Podge. Snip around the circle and push the cut tabs under the know.
Gently smooth out the napkin and let dry. Add another layer of Mod Podge to seal
the entire knob.
To paint the jar lids you can use spray paint or regular craft paint. I wanted a
variety of bright colors so I used craft paint and sealed the lids with a coat
of Gloss Mod Podge.
Once everything is dry, glue your knobs to the lids. For a secure hold, I like E6000 glue.
Super bright and cheerful storage jars with faux ceramic knobs. The bonus… the
jars are recycled and all the other supplies I had on hand.
I’ve already cleared some space on a shelf. A half of box of Kosher Salt,
leftover quinoa, steel cut oats and vanilla beans. All that large packaging got
tossed and these are so much cheerier.
I plan to use the smaller jars for herbs and spices… or even sprinkles. These
jars would also work in a bathroom or craft room. Like I said, you can never
have enough storage jars.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
