I have a love / hate relationship with shorts. I live in Southern California. Shorts are a wardrobe staple at last six months out of the year. But at a certain age, it gets difficult to find shorts that aren’t ridiculous. There are the teeny tiny shorts designed for an 18-year old with an inseam of 3 inches – total fabric to sew these shorts is about a 1/4 yard. There are age-appropriate shorts that either need ironing or not as fashionable as I like, or elastic-waist granny shorts. But cue the music - I recently found a pair of shorts that I love and had to share them with you.

Sadly, I didn’t have the best tomato crop this year. The tomatoes looked good but they didn’t have that home grown amazing taste and they were a tad on the mushy side. I was disappointed because I love fresh salsa and fresh thin sliced tomatoes on my sandwiches.

If you stopped by last week to browse, I hope you were inspired to create something. It’s been busy, busy, busy but here’s what I’ve been up to.
And now for the projects featured this week.

Before you know it, it will be back-to-school time. And if you have little ones, you’ll want to label everything! I created this full sheet of small “This Belongs To” labels. They’re the perfect size for pencils, pens, sharpeners and even books.

It wouldn’t be summer if I didn’t create some type of beachy coastal décor piece and this one is a quick and easy. The sea glass is from a floral arrangement I received years ago. The vase was filled with these beautiful glass chips and of course I washed and saved them.

A big thank you to everyone who visited me here at homework last week and especially those who shared their projects on The Inspiration Board.
In case you haven’t had time to drop in, here’s what I’ve been sharing lately.
