GOOD TASTE: Peanut Butter Chocolate Button Cookies

Peanut Butter Chocolate Button Cookies via homework - carolynshomework (3)Did I mention we’re having an end-of-summer heat wave here in Southern California? We are. The kind of heat where you just don’t want to do anything. Plus, since we live near the coast, we don’t have air conditioning. We rely on an ocean breeze that has been letting us down lately.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Button cookies via homework (2)Well, my college kid came home this weekend and when he mentioned that his roommate shared some home baked goodies that his mother made and they were so good, the competitive spirit took over and I had to make him something to take back.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Button Cookies via homework - carolynshomework (2)I really wasn’t in the mood to bake. It was so hot but I had a peanut butter cookie mix in the cupboard and they’re pretty good. I keep cake and cookie mixes stocked for those crazy “gotta have something” cravings! I also found some really nice chocolate candies and decided to make a peanut butter blossoms or buttons.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Button Cookies via homework - carolynshomework (5)Oh goodness, these are good. The peanut butter and chocolate combo is hard to beat. These cookies from a mix are pretty good but when you add a chocolate candy to them, they are down right yummy! So if you’re ever in a pinch, I recommend Betty Crocker Peanut Butter Cookie Mix and I added Droste Chocolate Pastilles to the cookies before I baked them. But any type of chocolate will do.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

The Inspiration Board: Spotlight 171 & Autumn Colors Inspiration

Happy Friday friends! It’s still very summery here in So. California but I’m pretending it’s fall. Sort of. I’m easing my way into the season. It’s hard to bring out all the fall décor when it’s beach weather. I always say it’s like shopping for sweaters when it’s hot blazing outside. Just doesn’t feel right! Anyway, thank you to each and everyone of you that stopped by this week. A big thank you for sharing your creativity on The Inspiration Board. If you didn’t get a chance to stop by this week, here’s what I shared.

Now, on to the features…
