The Inspiration Board: Spotlight 165 & Mellow Yellow Inspiration

Hello everyone! Happy Friday! Woot. Do you have big plans for the weekend? I’m still in college-kid move in mode, so I’ll be running around all weekend picking up more dorm necessities. I want to thank everyone who visited this week and especially to all of you who shared projects on The Inspiration Board. I love looking through all the links and it definitely takes my mind off my soon-to-be empty nest. If you didn’t get a chance to pop over, there what I shared this week.

And now for the projects in the Spotlight this week.

Paper_Succulent_Garden (1)This just made me gasp! Something Creative Everyday made this Succulent Garden out of recycled materials and paper. It is a work of art! Wow!

ring bowl glitterOoooh – I love shiny things! Sum of their Stories crafted some pretty dishes and blinged them with gold and glitter.

Jack1watermarkedThe Heathered Nest impresses again with this Train Themed Boy’s room. My favorite features… the enormous vintage train wall art, the antique blanket and herringbone rug. The list could go on and on. I pretty much love this room.

office-1-680x1024This gorgeous workspace would certainly inspire me. The desk started as a plain wood desk but Being Bianca used layers of gold spray paint and nail heads to give it an updated look.

IMG_7565-4Another amazing furniture transformation by Reposhture. This aging vinyl chair gets a completely new looks with spray paint. Now it looks like it came straight out of a high-end store!

igottacreate_simple_syrup_9A simple recipe makes the world of difference. I Gotta Create shares this Simple Syrup recipe. My mom used to make simple syrup so we could have fresh lemonade and it makes all the difference in the world.

IMG_4884Glamorous Affordable Life completely transformed the look of this lamp with paint and a new shade. I love the blue color on the base and the up-light shade.

1240bay-19This shows you what a little (or a lot) of elbow grease can accomplish. A completely cleaned up and sparkling vintage range by Leaving the Ivory Tower. I love the fold down top that doubles as counter space when you’re not cooking.

Fiesta-Fettuccine-8I love trying new things and this Fiesta Fettuccine by Love Food will Share sounds like a great combination of some of my favorites. Corn, bacon, cheese – oh yes!

Peach-Prosciutto-Pizza-682x1024Here’s another fun new dish to try. Keep it Simple Sweetie blends prosciutto and peaches on a homemade pizza. Reminiscent of Hawaiian pizza but without the pineapple.

Etceteras: A Little Eucalyptus

7-7

Every season I change up the décor on my kitchen hutch. I usually introduce a seasonal element or color depending on my mood. Sadly, this summer is getting away from me. Any grand plans for a fresh look with shells, starfish or other summer décor is slowly slipping away.

GOOD TASTE: A Rainbow of Granita Recipes

1-Granita Round Up

Every July 11th or 7/11, the 7-Eleven Convenience Stores give away free Slurpees. Have you ever had a Slurpee? They’re a frozen, icy, sugary beverage that tastes so good on a hot day. I didn’t get my free Slurpee this year which made me sad. So I started thinking about how I could easily make something similar. Have you heard of Granita? It’s a fancy Slurpee! Doesn’t Granita sound better than Slurpee? Actually, a Granita is better than a Slurpee and as I was checking out granita ideas, I realized that you can pretty much make them in a rainbow of colors and flavors.

BLOOM: Fresh Flowers and a Giveaway

1-Floral Post

Over the years, I used countless flowers in my posts here at homework. I’ve created all types of faux flowers and used fresh flowers either as the star of a post or as part of the styling for a post. These are just a few of the times, I included flowers in my photos.
