DRESS CODE: Favorite Shorts for Women 50+

Old Navy Shorts-003I have a love / hate relationship with shorts. I live in Southern California. Shorts are a wardrobe staple at last six months out of the year. But at a certain age, it gets difficult to find shorts that aren’t ridiculous. There are the teeny tiny shorts designed for an 18-year old with an inseam of 3 inches – total fabric to sew these shorts is about a 1/4 yard. There are age-appropriate shorts that either need ironing or not as fashionable as I like, or elastic-waist granny shorts. But cue the music - I recently found a pair of shorts that I love and had to share them with you.

GOOD TASTE: Roasted Tomato Salsa

Sadly, I didn’t have the best tomato crop this year. The tomatoes looked good but they didn’t have that home grown amazing taste and they were a tad on the mushy side. I was disappointed because I love fresh salsa and fresh thin sliced tomatoes on my sandwiches.

Welcome to The Inspiration Board here on homework. I am so happy you are here. Today is my favorite day – the day I get to see what you’ve been up to. Last week the link party was back on track with loads of inspiration. I noticed a surge in home diy projects and I’m so inspired to get off my you-know-what and work on our house. I’ll keep you posted if that happens. In the meantime, I get to enjoy what you’ve been doing.

On to the party - thank you for stopping by homework.

ETCETERAS: Sea Glass Succulent Bowl

Sea Glass Succulent Bowl - homework (4)It wouldn’t be summer if I didn’t create some type of beachy coastal décor piece and this one is a quick and easy. The sea glass is from a floral arrangement I received years ago. The vase was filled with these beautiful glass chips and of course I washed and saved them.
