CELEBRATIONS: Vintage Button Heart

I had this idea to use up some of my vintage buttons and create a little heart on an embroidery hoop. I naively thought that I had come up with some sort of original idea to create a little heart. Ha – I checked Pinterest and I discovered there are entire boards dedicated to button hearts on embroidery hoops. There are even hearts using red thread which again I thought would be original. Oh well, I decided to go ahead and create the little project that I had visualized even if it’s been done many, many times.

Inkling: vintage valentine’s graphics

It’s still not too late to make Valentine tags to use on gifts and goodies. I made these tags with vintage clipart from the Graphics Fairy.

The original graphics were in color. I loved the beautiful colors but wanted to give these tags a more vintage feel. I converted the images to black and white and mounted them on manila hang tags.
You can use these tags on packages, flowers or baked goods.
And, if Valentine’s Day isn’t your thing, these vintage bird graphics can be used year-round.
Wishing you all a Valentine’s Day filled with happiness and love.

Etceteras: twine hearts
More Valentine fun. I made these little twine wrapped hearts with the intention of making a garland. I’m still figuring out how I want to finish up the garland.

In the meantime, I thought they would be fun to use as embellishments for packages and other goodies.

The twine wrapped heart also makes a nice embellishment on a gift package.
Now, I need to finish up that garland.
