I still have some branches left in our yard trimming pile.
I’ve made several projects with them including this photo holder and wood tacks.
I love the texture of these branches and wanted to use them for a new project. I came up with these branch spools for my twine.
I sawed sections of the branch into ¼ inch slices. I used a hand saw because I haven’t mastered power tools and maybe never will.
I glued a dowel to the inside of the branch slices to create a spool.
Pretty decorative spools that combine two of my favorite things - natural wood and twine.

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, aren't these just the cutest thing! Such clever ways to use up twigs, I also cut some twigs into slices, but haven't done anything with them, having seen your great ideas I think I shall use mine to make magnets! Thanks for the inspiration!
