We cleaned out my son’s closet…again! He outgrew another closetful of clothes. I kept a few of the colorful t-shirts to use for projects but I wasn’t sure what I was going to use them for.
I also found some of those small plastic baby hangers buried in the back of his closet. Keep in my mind my son is a teenager so I don’t know how those hangers have been overlooked all these years. I decided to use the t-shirts and hangers together.
These plastic baby hangers are just the right size for baby and toddler clothes but they’re slippery and the clothes tend to fall off.
Using the old t-shirts, I cut long strips and wrapped the plastic hangers. A dab of hot glue here and there will keep the strips in place.
Smaller strips are tied on to create the scrappy / rag rug look. The strips did take a while to tie but if you cut them all out you can tie them while watching your favorite TV show.
I didn’t have any baby clothes to hang on the hangers for these photos so I used some of my tops that tend to fall off regular hangers.
They work perfectly. The old t-shirts are soft and add padding to the hangers.
These would make great baby gifts. The plastic hangers are very inexpensive and old t-shirts are free!
Thanks for visiting.

LOVE this idea!!! The cost is negligible and they look fantastic. I have a couple of baby gifts to make in the next few months and this would be perfect.
