Do you have a little one? Specifically a little girl? You can easily make this fun Valentine’s Day Card Holder with a cereal box like I did for
Valentine’s Day with Plaid Crafts.

Your little one can head to school carrying a cute fashionable purse and store all the Valentine cards (and candy) that she receives in it. This was a fun project that your little one can help with. Want to make one?

Start with an empty cereal box and cut the top part off to the size you desire. Choose the paper you want to wrap your box in. You can use wrapping paper, scrapbook paper, or anything you have on hand. Trace around your box on the paper so that the paper will cover the bottom, one flat side and the sides. Make two of these. Adhere the paper to the box with
Mod Podge and let dry.

Cover the entire outside of your purse in a coat of
Mod Podge. This will seal the purse and protect it.

While the purse is drying, create the buttons.

Paint cardstock with your desired button color. I used
Apple Barrel paints in
Laguna,
Limeade,
Tropic Orange,
Fuchsia and
Misty White. Once your base color is dry, use a 1 inch circle punch and punch out several buttons. Add decorative touches to the buttons using the paint colors.

Use ribbon or canvas to create the handles. Staple the handles to the box and cover the staple with your paper button.
