I did some of my holiday shopping online and got a bonus in one of the boxes. This cool brown packing paper was wrapped around some mugs from Crate & Barrel.
The items I bought were wrapped in yards and yards of it. I used some to wrap gifts and my packages looked so unique people asked me where I got the cool wrapping paper.
I decided to use a little of it to make some new pencil cans. This project was so fast and easy. All you need are clean cans, colored paper and the cool packaging paper.
Wrap you can in the colored paper and tape the ends together. Use the packaging paper and loosely wrap the can tucking in the bottom and top ends. You can glue the bottom or use tape. Easy!
I used one can for paint brushes, one for my new shiny metallic Sharpies and one for twine. The little bee is a photo or card holder that I propped inside the can.
I love this paper. It’s hard to believe it was packaging wrap.

Makes me think that a Martha Stewart "punch around the page" would create an interesting pattern to use in lieu of your great find. Maybe the packaging used around those "apple-pears" at the grocery store would work too? Fun, fun, idea!
