Now that Labor Day is behind us, I should be in full fall mode. The problem is – it’s hot! This happens every year. We live near the coast and it usually doesn’t really feel like summer until late August through October. In order to get myself excited for fall, I usually put together an inspiration board or idea book.
I dug through my seasonal craft supplies and cupboards to pull together some items that will hopefully get me moving on fall décor and thought I’d share my mood boards with you.
Just the thought or smell of certain spices makes me think of fall. The colors of paprika, turmeric and curry couldn’t be more autumn-ish. The same colors are found in fall leaves that look so pretty with gourds and mini white pumpkins.
Punched paper in moss green, eggplant, gold, paprika and maize reminded me of these peppercorns that I had in my cupboard and eucalyptus pods that I embellished with pretty trim last year.
Besides the beautiful fall colors that I’m leaning toward, I’ll be pulling out my vintage bone cutlery, loads of moss and of course a variety of twine.
It’s working! I’m beginning to get excited for fall. I have to inspire myself every year in order to really start feeling fall. Three years ago {above left} I made a fall inspiration board and two years ago {above right} I made a fall inspiration booklet.
What colors are you leaning toward this fall? Right now, I’m all about moss green, eggplant, paprika, maize and gold.
Thanks for visiting.
This is just the gentle push I need to get my Fall projects going! Thanks for the inspiration, my friend! :)
ReplyDeleteLove your fall color selections!
ReplyDeleteIt is hard for us to get into "fall mood" too, because of the hot and humid weather... I see pumpkins at the stores, and I am in denial :0
Oh! Such fun inspiration! I especially like the spice inspiration…it’s a lot of fun to see all the different ways you can be inspired around a season!
