When you have a creative and craft blog, people give you all kinds of goodies because “you can do something with this”. I recently received a bunch of pots and they all have tons of potential.

I started with this plain white pot with a raised honeycomb pattern. It was actually fine in it’s original state but I’ve been so into gold accents lately, I thought I’d play up the honeycomb with some gold paint. I used gold craft paint and a small paint brush and the results were so-so. It just didn’t feel finished to me.

In order to give it a more finished look, I sealed the pot with a pearl glaze. I used FolkArt Pearlcote. A few light coats and it softened the gold and gave it a shimmery pearlized finish.

I had this plant in another pot and it was just starting to bloom so I nestled it in it’s new home.

I love the effect. Just a hint of gold.

These delicate antique tea cups go perfectly with the white, green and hint of gold motif.

Thanks for visiting my little corner of the creative world.
Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!
LOVE the gold details on the pot!
ReplyDeleteThe gold accent added so much life to the pot! It looks so much prettier. Great idea :)
