With the beautiful warm weather we’ve been experiencing, it’s no wonder I’m thinking about summer and picnics. I spied some fun picnic theme paper napkins at the market and grabbed a pack.
I have a shelf full of jars and glassware just waiting for a little makeover. These salt and pepper shakers are perfect for an outdoor barbeque or an impromptu picnic. They just needed a little sprucing up.
Have you ever used paper napkins with Mod Podge? It’s a fun and easy way to give a plain object a brand new look.
To start, separate the white liner from the paper napkin. You only want to use the printed part of the napkin.
Cut your napkin the length and width to cover your jar. Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to your jar in sections and start applying the napkin. You want to be very gentle since the napkin is so thin. Make sure there are no creases or bubbles. You can gently press the napkin to make sure it’s smooth. For the bottom, cut slits in the napkin and adhere with Mod Podge.
One the napkin is dry, use a coat of Mod Podge to seal the napkin the glass. This gives the napkin a translucent look.
For these picnic themed pieces, I made tassels from string to jazz them up even more.
Super easy and super cute. Paper napkins come in a huge variety of prints. When you’re tired of one look, simply soak your glass and start all over again with a new print.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
