HOMEROOM: Spring Hutch with Pastels

The past few months have been so busy between business travel, my son’s sports schedule and squeezing in the master bedroom makeover, I almost didn’t decorate my dining room hutch.




One of my favorite things to do is to switch out the plates and accent pieces for every season. I couldn’t decide which color to go with so I went with an assortment of pastels.

I love this look – I can use a variety of my dishes from new to vintage pieces.

While I was at it, I made a little tea with jam and bread to make the table look pretty. Plus, I was hungry so I snacked, styled and took pictures.

Don’t you think having tea in a pretty cup makes it taste better?

This is my addiction. My mom’s homemade strawberry jam. It’s so good, especially now when strawberries are so plentiful.

My typical breakfast. Jam on wheat toast with a little fruit.

These orchids have been blooming for over a month. Gorgeous and the perfect touch for this soft pastel themed hutch.
