THE DIRT: DIY Easy and Practical Potting Table

Potting Table Herb GardenI have a quick and easy DIY for you today. I’ve been wanting to organize my backyard potting area for the longest time. Inspiration struck when I saw this super easy cinder block and wood plank table on Freunde Von Freunden. So pretty and simple. In fact, it was such an easy DIY that my son built it for me in a few hours.

Potting Table Easy Weather Resistant
I added the vintage hooks which used to be in our bathroom. It makes the perfect herb drying rack.

If I’m not drying herbs, I can hang gardening tools from the hooks. Perfect!

Potting Table for your Herb GardenI use the top for a mini herb garden and plant cutting area. Currently, this tiny jade plant is starting root.

Potting Table DIY Faux French Herb PotThis is one of my favorite pots. You can see how I transformed a dollar store pot into a faux French Herb Pot HERE.

I also have a pretty red geranium that’s just starting to flower.

Potting Table DIY Japanese EggplantOn the other side of the patio is my vegetable garden and I’m excited about this Japanese Eggplant. My Wee Pumpkins aren’t doing as well and my plan to have a harvest of tiny pumpkins for Halloween and Thanksgiving may fall short.

Potting Table Practical Cinder BlocksOh well, in the meantime, I’m enjoying this very simple potting table. What’s great about it is it’s weather proof and easy to clean since we left an opening between the wood planks. Did you catch the Faux Enamelware Compost Bin on the ground? I made that from an old bucket and it’s handy to throw clippings in it. You can see how I made it HERE. I’m also excited about that slice of tree trunk that I have drying. One of trees died and I saved two big pieces.

Even though my Potting Table won’t win any design awards, it’s functional, practical and was made with love by my son. That’s the best type of DIY.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

    1. Thank you so much Janet. That's makes me feel so great about the table. I've seen loads of fancy ones using upcycled / recycled furniture but it just didn't seem practical. I'm really enjoying my new potting table. Blessings to you too.
