Inkling: moving in circles with StampingGear

I used to love playing with Spirograph. Do they still make that toy? The one where you can draw all kinds of cool circles that create designs? Well, I got to test out a new craft supply called StampingGear and it took me back to those fun days.

StampingGear is a great tool that uses a circle cog and a stamp paddle block to create pretty circular designs.

You place the cog in the middle and choose your stamp design. The stamp sticks to the paddle and you work around the circle stamping away. I was a little worried I would mess up since you have to lift the paddle to re-ink but it worked perfectly. I inked and stamped, inked and stamped my way around.

You end up with cool designs like this.

That form a circular design like this.

StampingGear is by Inkadinkadoo and when you get good at it, you can make ultra cool things like this bowl showcased on their website. I’m thinking about making a plate for my next project.

TileCoastersOr these coasters.

In the meantime, I made some pretty cards with a few simple stamping designs. I love the new StampingGear tool. You can use them with pigment dye and chalk inks as well as craft, acrylic and fabric paint. Fabric paint… oooh – I’m thinking about some pretty tea towels to use as holiday gifts.

I was provided a complimentary StampingGear to test and review. I was not otherwise compensated and all opinions are mine.
