The Inspiration Board: creative party spotlight ~114~

Happy Friday everyone! I was out of town last weekend and I’ve been playing catch up all week - so the week flew by extra fast for me. This weekend I’m going to try to get ahead because I may be on jury duty next week. I don’t know how it works where you live but we have a call in system. Every night for a week, I call in to see if I need to report. I’m all for doing my duty but I really wouldn’t mind hearing that I’m excused. Keep positive thoughts for me! School is starting soon and like all of you, I have a million and one things to do.

How to Nest for Less redid her mother’s guest bathroom. Working with a budget and the existing gold accents, she added pops of color that work brilliantly with the gold fixtures.

DIY Photo Clipboards by Love Grows Wild. What a great way to add beautiful prints to a wall.

I can’t wait to try this tip for the easiest way to cook corn on the cob by Kids Activities Blog. In the husks, in a baggie, in the microwave. That definitely works for me!

Vintage Paint and More shares a pretty summer mantle. I love the book page column with the bird perched on top. And that giant abalone shell is right up my alley.

Domestic Bliss Squared created this Urban Princess Dress based on her daughter’s design. It’s just darling but even more adorable is how much her daughter is enjoying modeling the dress.

Such a pretty fabric box by Mia’s Creations. The little corner pockets inside are perfect for holding smaller items. These would be great little gift holders filled with make up or other trinkets.

It’s that time of year. There are so many wonderful back to school project ideas around. I particularly love this little yellow {school bus color} organizer by The Silly Pearl.

I still love burlap and when it’s embellished with one of my favorite color combinations - pool blue and tangerine, I love it all the more. Extra long burlap table runner by The Silberez Life.

I love chippy, weathered recycled items and Finding Home has the perfect solution to use some weathered old doors as desktops. I want a chippy old door desk with a glass top!

I’m going to be adding a new feature to The Inspiration Board Spotlight called Inspire Me. It may not be a regular weekly feature but I will definitely be spotlighting inspirational stories more often.

Inspire Me

This story by Born Again Farm Girl tells of her little four year old boy who helped out when there was an oil spill that affected the wildlife in their town. He helped raise a baby turtle for 3 years until it was big enough to safely be out in the wild and reproduce. Not many seven year olds would be able to say goodbye to an animal that had become a pet. Here he is in the photos at 4 with the tiny baby turtle and at 7 saying goodbye. I’m definitely inspired.
