Don’t let the fancy name fool you. This Beef Bourguignonne recipe is as easy to make as any family stew recipe.
I found this recipe tucked in my recipe box and although I think I made this years ago, I couldn’t even remember how it tasted. I thought I’d give it another try and it was a hit with my family. The recipe is adapted from the recipe I originally clipped out of Cooking Light. Let’s make some – you’ll find the recipe card after the step-by-step.
You’ll need 2 pounds of stewing beef and 3 slices of bacon.
And what “stew” would be complete without some carrots, garlic and onions.
Cut up your stew meat and coat with flour, salt and pepper.
You can slice the carrots or use baby carrots and keep them whole.
Chop up that bacon and cook it in a large pot. Remove the bacon and brown the coated beef in the bacon drippings. Add the bacon back to the cooked beef and add the beef broth, wine, tomato paste and spices. Cover and cook for one hour. Add the carrots and cook for another hour or more.
Absolutely delicious!
Bon Appetite!
Thanks so much for stopping by.
It sounds great!!
