homework: Reading [ Make Your Mark ] + a Giveaway

Book Review Make Your Mark via homework (1)I have another great reading assignment to share with you. MAKE YOUR MARK  by Lark Crafts showcases another hot trend in the crafting world. Using markers, paint pens and more to decorate a multitude of products.

Book Review Make Your Mark via homework (2)The book is a collaboration of projects from some of the most talented artists and crafters around. But don’t worry – even though these ladies are truly inspirational, the projects are easily recreated. In fact, you may have already created similar projects yourself.

Book Review Make Your Mark via homework (3)This sake bottle is one of my favorites from the book. A plain white sake bottle is transformed with one pen and one color. All you need is a steady hand and imagination.

Book Review Make Your Mark via homework (4)One of the best features of the book are the templates. There are over 50 templates that you can use to recreate the beautiful designs featured in Make Your Mark.

Book Review Make Your Mark via homework (5)How amazing are these wooden bangle bracelets. They look like they’re straight out of a designer boutique!

Another great feature from this book is that the artists road tested some of the most common and popular pens on a variety of surfaces: wood, ceramic, fabric and more. Side by side photos show the results so we can eliminate some craft fails in the future by using the right marker on the right surface.

1-002I’ve made some projects using markers in the past. I really like how these Starfish Mugs turned out using colored Sharpies. And these dyed and speckled eggs using metallic markers were fun. I love keeping an assortment of markers in my craft supply. These are just a few of my colored markers. I have a bunch of metallic pens and just added some white paint pens to my stash.

How would you like to win a copy of Make Your Mark? The inspiration inside the book is truly wonderful and the templates are brilliant. Just use the entry form below for a chance to win a copy of this sensational book.

Good Luck! (Open to U.S. & Canada residents only – thank you).

Thanks for visiting my little corner of the creative world.
