BLOOM: Spring Flowers Inspired by Radiant Orchid

Spring Flowers inspired by Radiant Orchid via homework | carolynshomework.comA few days before Easter, my mom gave me these gorgeous purple tulips. And before I went to her house on Easter, I picked up this pretty bouquet of white and purple flowers for her.

Spring Flowers inspired by Radiant Orchid via homework | carolynshomework.comIn case you don’t keep up with color trends, Radiant Orchid is Pantone’s color of the year. I honestly think it’s subconsciously inspiring me because I normally wouldn’t have picked a white and purple bouquet.

Spring Flowers inspired by Radiant Orchid via homework | carolynshomework.comI’m pretty sure my mom has never heard of Pantone or the fact that they have a color of the year.

Spring Flowers inspired by Radiant Orchid via homework | carolynshomework.comBefore Easter, the tulips she gave me and the bouquet I was taking to her house were on my table and I snapped up a bunch of photos since it all looked so pretty.

Spring Flowers inspired by Radiant Orchid via homework | carolynshomework.comI had already repotted the tulips in this pretty green terra cotta pot and the bouquet was resting in my chipped up enamelware pitcher. And of course, I couldn’t resist adding a spring bird’s nest and some burlap.

Spring Flowers inspired by Radiant Orchid via homework | carolynshomework.comYes, Radiant Orchid is definitely making it’s way into my décor. But in subtle ways. Do you like purple? Have you incorporated it into your house?

Thanks for visiting my little corner of the creative world.

  1. Yes, I love purple and use it (lots of different shades) as an accent color everywhere in my home. I have white walls so it's not overpowering. I bought a stencil a few years ago and can't seem to find a soft shade of purple to use with it. I think radiant orchid is a bit loud for a large wall area but works well as an accent like the flowers you put together.
