Inkling: faux birch frame

I’ve wanted to make another project using the birch clipart that I used for these holiday napkin rings.  I also wanted to make this frame that I saw in Better Homes and Garden craft archives. 

Here’s the result.

You can use any type of paper to make these little rolls.  The original BHG project used magazine pages. You roll the paper around straws and glue or mod podge them. Then cut the tubes and glue them onto your frame.

Here’s a tip: use clear or white straws to make this project. I used straws that had colored stripes and you can see the stripes on the inside of the tubes.

This is one of my favorite pictures so I’m happy with the frame…stripes and all.
