Good Taste: chocolate tea bag tags

Well, the weather was turning to fall and I thought some hot tea would be nice. But then we had a sudden last burst of summer. So let me start off this post with some advice – don’t make these chocolates on a hot day and try to take pictures of them next to a hot cup of tea. Both you and the chocolates will be melting before long.

But if it is chilly where you are a nice cup of tea would certainly hit the spot. And these little chocolate tea bag tags would be a nice treat.

Making chocolates in molds is easy – just not on a hot day. Simply melt your chocolate in the microwave on 50% power. Chocolate burns easily so check it and stir it every 15 seconds or so. I melted mine in a small ramekin in a shallow pan of boiling water.

Once the chocolate is melted, spoon a small amount into your mold. Gently tap the mold to level the chocolate and release any air bubbles. Place in the freezer to set.

Once your chocolates are set, tap them out of the mold. They should pop out very easily. I drizzled milk chocolate over my white chocolate leaves.

To make these tea bag tags, cut off the paper tag that came with the tea bag. Adhere the string to the back of the molded chocolate with a little more melted chocolate.

Use a pretty cup and saucer and make some tea.

Relax and enjoy your tea and chocolate.
