Nothing says spring to me like fresh flowers and plants. Throw in some bright yellow accents like lemons and it’s an instant mood brightener.
For my instant spring makeover, I headed to Smart & Final. Plants and fresh flowers can add up and they always have a good selection at a price I can handle. Gerbera Daisies, Orchids and Tulips are some of my favorites.
Wheat Grass is a great way to decorate on a budget. Add it centerpieces, floral arrangements or stuff it in vintage dishes.
I have been wanting this type of orchid forever. It’s in the Oncidium orchid family or Dancing Lady orchid family. It’s so delicate and will eventually live on my kitchen counter happily dancing under the kitchen sink window.
For my spring shelf, I used white pots {the orchid came in the nice white ceramic pot} and Blue Danish dishes. I cut a few of the Gerbera Daisies for pops of color and the Freesias are from my garden. You can cut up the Wheat Grass with a sharp knife and repot in pretty containers. I used a sugar bowl, creamer and tea cup.
Thanks for visiting.
I have a wooden ledge under our living room window that's just begging to have a collection of mini potted plants -- mostly flowering hopefully! Your lovely post just reminded me. Happy spring!

ReplyDeleteSeeing all this bright yellowness has brought a smile to my face, despite it being absolutely un-spring like here in Britain! Thank you for the lovely inspiration...
