Extra Credit: good night

Today I’m sharing something that’s priceless… a good night’s sleep. In today’s world, the pace is hectic. Schedules are jam packed, whether you’re a parent, career person, married or single. Our day’s are filled with kid’s activities, school meetings, work meetings, business travel –  it’s often hard to get a good night’s sleep.



There have been many times that I anticipate finally getting a good night’s sleep only to toss and turn and end up having a restless night and miserable day.

Someday, I’m going to completely redecorate our master bedroom. I truly believe that if I create a more tranquil atmosphere and a space that makes me happy, I’ll sleep better. I gathered some bedroom ideas together to inspire me. One central theme in all these bedrooms are the piles of fluffy pillows. Gone are the days of one pillow per person. The pillows are not only décor pieces but key to the tantalizing message of “crawl in and sleep soundly”.


So when the very nice people at Sleep Number contacted me and asked if I’d like to try out their pillows, I was all in. We discussed the need for quality sleep in order to be productive and creative. It’s so true – many craft fails have resulted from being overly tired.


The pillow I chose based on a brief sleep quiz was the Down Pillow with a soft density. Sleep Number has several types of pillows including their amazing memory foam and Air Fit^TM  adjustable pillow. I’ve been sleeping on my new pillow for about a week now and can I just say “oh, my goodness!” In all honesty, I can’t believe what a difference a pillow makes. The minute my head hits that pillow, I’m completely comfortable and out. No tossing and fluffing during the night.

And since it’s not in the budget to completely redo our master bedroom with new furniture and bedding, I’m going to start with a pillowcase that my new pillow deserves.I found these pretty examples and I love the vintage feel to these. From there, I’m going to tackle the duvet cover and then cover the plain headboard.

Getting a good night’s sleep makes all the difference in the world. Sweet dreams and zzzzzzzzzz
