I usually like to wait until October 1st to break out the Halloween décor but since tomorrow is The Inspiration Board creative party, I’m starting a day early. Considering some malls already have holiday décor up, I think it’s okay.

This year, I’m starting with my seasonal hutch and wouldn’t you know… a family of owls landed on the top shelf. Aren’t they cute? I found these fluffy little owls at my local dollar store and grabbed the last three in the bin.

I added some simple tree branches to the shelf held on with earthquake putty. Do they sell earthquake putty where you live? I live in California so maybe it’s more common here. It’s basically a sticky putty that keeps things in place.

In years past, I usually decorated for Halloween with my dollar store crows. Here they are doing work and holding up my garland. I still have them and will use them again but I thought the owls were a fun change of pace.

Each one looks a little different. This guy has a nice shape to him. He’s fluffy and well rounded.

This one is a little thinner and less fluffy but it makes him all the cuter.

I draped an old silky crocheted shawl from the top of the hutch.

For now, I left all my other fall décor untouched. How about you? Have you started decorating for Halloween?
Thanks for visiting.
OMG, these are so pretty! I have to grab mine too if I ever find some! Thanks for the inspiration Carolyn!
