I had to shuffle my schedule around and the project that I was going to share with you today isn’t quite ready. But since I was meal planning with my mother for our Thanksgiving dinner and going through my recipes, I’d thought I’d share some of our favorites with you. Some of these make a regular appearance on our Thanksgiving table. The spinach apple & glazed pecan salad, cranberry conserve, cheesecake bars and pecan mini tarts are always requested. A few others are new recipes that are also perfect for Thanksgiving.
Cranberry, Apple and Mandarin Orange Conserve. Years ago, I heard this recipe on the radio while driving to work and memorized it since I couldn’t jot it down. I’ve made it year after year and it’s always a hit.

These
Quinoa Salad Bites would be a perfect replacement for a heavier appetizer since we want to save our appetites for the stars of the show – turkey, gravy and stuffing.

I love this
Spinach, Apple & Glazed Pecan Salad - it’s perfect year round. Refreshing in the summer and also delicious in the fall with the crisp apples and sweet glazed pecans.

If you’re not into traditional stuffing, this
Acorn Squash and Wild Rice Casserole would be delicious with turkey. What the heck, have the stuffing and the casserole.

Did you leave room for dessert?
Mini Pecan Tarts that are perfectly bite-sized and oh-so innocent looking. Every time I make these my husband says “I don’t like pecan pie but I love these”.
Cheesecake Bars are also on the menu this year. I’ll be making these and they’ll be served along side of my mother’s pies.
Yum, I can’t wait! Our menu this year is: shrimp cocktail, spinach apple & glazed pecan salad, cranberry conserve, turkey, stuffing, candied yams, green bean casserole, apple pie, pecan pie and cheesecake bars. I’m also making a new appetizer which is the post that wasn’t quite ready for today. I’ll be sharing that recipe next week.
What’s on your Thanksgiving menu? Do you stick to the same exact menu every year or try out new things once in a while?
Thanks for visiting.
