It’s called Sugru and has thousands of uses. You can make bumpers for electronic gadgets, heat proof a sauce pan handle, make grips for just about anything, repair items and so on.
I made grips for some wooden spoons. The best part is once the rubber is cured, it’s waterproof and dishwasher proof.
The product comes in little foil packets. You use it just like play dough. Roll it into a ball until it’s smooth and pliable. Apply it to a clean surface and mold it.
Once I had the Sugru formed around the spoon handles, I added texture to the yellow grip with a pair of pliers. The pliers had bumps along the rubber handles so I rolled the soft Sugru on the texture. I used a screw to make the wavy pattern in the black Sugru. You can leave your Sugru smooth or use just about anything to create texture.
I love that a woman thought of this product idea and worked hard to see her product come to life.
Here are some more ideas for Sugru. Twig handles, pots and pan lids, gadgets and wires.
