With the new year always comes a wave of cleaning, purging and organizing. I’m not sure what it is that brings that out in some of us but I’m going to ride that wave for as long as I can. I haven’t had time to tackle some of the larger organizing projects, like cleaning out my closet {sigh… I’ll need a full weekend to tackle that mess} but I did get one little project done and I’m thrilled with the end result.

I made a pretty binder to organize some of my recipes. These are the recipes that I tear out of magazines or printed out years ago. I’ve always had them in a binder but it was a disorganized mess.

Here’s the inspiration for the project. I got this super fun Tab Punch and these Tab Stickers from
We R Memory Keepers. I have a feeling I’m going to be creating a lot of tabs. It’s so fun. Punch, punch, punch – instant tabs.

Once the tabs are punched, use a tab sticker to adhere it to a divider. The stickers reinforce the tabs and provide a clear cover. It’s organizing heaven!

I used chalkboard paper for the tabs and used another piece of chalkboard paper for the inside first page.

The recipes are all inserted into plastic sheet protectors.

I love looking through all these recipes. Some of these I tore out years ago.

My favorite section is called “Holidays”. I have recipes and notes from my mom as she is slowly passing on the holiday cooking to me. She still handwrites her recipes with a lot of great tips and notes from years of experience.

And here it is on my shelf - all covered and ready to use in this new year. One small organization step for me with a lot of giant leaps to go.
Thanks for visiting.
Perfect! Thanks for this idea Carolyn, I need to organize my recipes too! Love the fabric covered binder you have! Always covered mine in Gift wrap but I think Fabric is better! Will have to do this soon and I also love the TAB punch, have to grab mine now!
