Sew and Tell: embellished sweater

It’s always fun to give new life to something you haven’t worn in awhile.

Blog Sweater RefashionLike this plain ruffled sweater. There was nothing wrong with it. But I have several other sweaters that I like better and this one was heading toward the “not worn in a few seasons” pile. But now, it has a fresh look with pretty yarn flower embellishments.

It all started with this yarn I found in a clearance bin. It’s called Wide Mesh Ruffle Yarn. I imagine if you crochet something with it it becomes ruffled. I just loved the colors and wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it.

The yarn seemed to be perfect for making these rolled flowers. So I rolled and glued and rolled and glued.

And when I had enough I hand sewed them onto the sweater.

Now I can put this back in the closet and I’ll definitely be wearing it.

I think it will perfect with my favorite turquoise bracelet.

Thanks for visiting.
